Green Tip Tuesday: Clean for life

Our everyday soap makes us feel secure in the fact that we're killing germs and clearing away dirt, right? Well, what if I told you that most name brand soaps/body washes are full of chemicals and toxins and you're really just trading one bad for the other? Well that's what I'm saying. It's time to start choosing soaps that are better for us and our environment.

Today's green tip is to think conciously about the soap you put on your body! And in your hair!

Life_soap

I would like to share one soap company that is going the extra mile, not only providing you with organic soap to nourish your skin but they are also spreading awareness on the clean water crisis. The LifeSoap Company gives 90% of their profits (after taxes)  to clean water projects. Now that's something to feel fresh about!

Scott Case, founder of Priceline and CEO of Startup America, speaks at Startup Florida.

Maxine Gomez, CFO of Pompano Beach, Florida-based Swipes Inc., is on a roll.

Making a two-minute “elevator pitch” to a half-dozen corporate executives and a venture capitalist, Gomez passionately describes why her company’s “Swipes Lovin Wipes,” an eco-friendly moist napkin designed to use “after intimate moments,” are catching on with consumers.

With product soon available at Walgreen’s and already at its Drugstore.com online retailer, Gomez believes the time is right for venture capital funding to help grow the mom-and-pop startup.

The pitch may have been just practice, but for Gomez and a group of 65 other entrepreneurs, the opportunity was precious.  Thank IBM, the founder of Priceline.com, and President Barack Obama for making it happen.

Green Thanksgiving Tips

In the spirt of Thanksgiving, today's Green Tip Tuesday will help you focus on "greening" your holiday every step of the way!

Farmers-market-foods

First thing first---Think organic and BUY LOCAL! I can't express that more. We all know the holidays are hectic but take a moment to think about where your food is coming from, what's in it, and who you're helping---or NOT helping! When you buy local, you know you're eating fresh and keeping the money in the local ecomony. Farmers markets and other small local markets have great prices and amazing deals on vegetables and other goodies. Oh and emember just because something isn't in pristine condition and may have a minor flaw doesn't make it inedible!

Don't waste! 28 billion pounds of edible food is wasted every year, this year plan ahead and practice portion control. Try not to let your eyes be bigger than your stomach. Eat a little...wait..and eat again, just don't waste! Also, if you have a ton of leftovers that you don't plan to use, donate them your local shelter or food bank!

Have fun together--instead settling in front of the TV, play board games with your family or a round of football in the yard. Take advantage of the time with family and friends while decreasing your energy usage..it's a win win.

Setting the table can be a little challenging when you have a ton of people over for the holidays. So most of us think paper plates!---Well this year, don't. Think biodegradable and compostable plates and utensils. This way you can get another use or two out them and if they must go to the trash or recycling then the earth will take care of them for you :)

And last but never least always remember to RECYCLE!!!!!! Plastics, cans, paper---all of it! You'll soon realize you have a lot less trash than you think!

Live Green and be Sexy this Holiday season!

The Swipes Team wishes you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Peace, Lovin, Swipes!

Freaky Friday: Striptease

Hey everyone I came across a great article by lovingyou.com.This one is for the ladies but will be loved by the men! It's the weekend, keep your Swipes Lovin Wipes handy, and let the inhibitions come out and play :)

Give your man a special treat he'll never forget - a surprise striptease! It's the perfect unexpected treat, and is something he's sure to remember better than any box of candy or stuffed animal!

pole dancer

And don't worry... any woman can give a great striptease, even if your body isn't perfect or you're naturally shy. The following tips will help make certain that your sexy surprise will be an enormous success!

FIRST LET'S ADDRESS WHAT TO WEAR

Choose clothing that accentuates your most beautiful body parts.

This is one time that it"s appropriate to show a lot of skin. Anything from elegant gowns, baby-dolls, sexy lingerie, cute two-piece sets, or little dresses are great to wear.

Whatever you wear, make sure it can be removed easily.

Don't wear a corset that you have to unbutto and. avoid anything too complicated that you will have to fidget with to get off like a tight dress. Clothing that zips in back or that doesn't stretch can also be difficult to work with.

Make sure that your panties frame your cheeks and show off your shape.

We all wear those comfy panties that no one else should see, but for the purpose of seducing your man, the guidelines are: the top of the back of your panties should reach no more than two inches above your cheeks.  Try on booty shorts, full bottomed panties, thongs, and g-strings to see which you feel best in. Also, if they leave lines on your body after you take them off, they are too tight. When taking your bottoms off, try slipping them off over your shoes or bare feet while standing straight-legged. Do this by bending over from the waist and guiding them off all th e way to the floor and then stepping out of them. If this isn't easy for you, try bending your knees or taking your bottoms off while lying on your back.

Shoes are a personal preference.

Both looks are sexy! If you do choose to wear shoes, choose them wisely. Stiletto's high heels are the perfect choice if you can handle them, and they make your legs look like they're sky high. If moving gracefully in stilettos just isn't an option, dancing with bare feet can also be very seductive. You should stay away from short, one-inch heels. They look great with pants and skirts, but give the illusion of shortening naked legs. Strapless shoes can be removed gracefully, but if yours need to be buckled, you'll probably want to remove your clothing without taking off your shoes. Almost anything stretchy can be taken off over your shoes, but it might be a good idea to practice first.

Stockings are a sexy addition to almost any outfit.

They can be knee high or thigh high, worn with or without garters. Whichever you choose, make sure to get a large enough size. It can help to get a size too large so that they don't constrict your legs and cause unsightly bulges while you're moving. A tip: it can be super sexy to keep your stockings and garter belt on for a while after your dance. If you'd like to do this, make sure to wear a thong or g-string on the outside so that they can be removed without having to unhook your garters.

Freaky Friday: Just stay home!

Everyone wants to go on vacation! Get some good R&R and if you're with your partner a little or a LOT of sexy time is in order right? Well, nowadays it's hard to get the time off or find the funds to take a elaborate vacay...so why not just stay at home or get hotel room locally? Both are great cost effective options and with a little creativity could be worth your while!

Before we get to the creative in-home Staycation ideas, let's explore your local options. Not everyone is as fortunate as we are, here at Swipes Inc., to live near the beach (sorry to brag) but no matter where you live there should be a quaint hotel or B&B within 30 miles. Take just the weekend off...turn off phones, leave the lap tops behind, and focus in on rekindling the romance in your relationship. And if you don't have a weekend..go midweek and take a few hours off from work the next morning...this would be a good time to use a doctors appointment excuse!

But if staying home is your option, there is nothing wrong with that! If you have kids, pawn them off on someone and tell everyone you are going out of town. Get whatever groceries you think you may need for the night or days (unless you plan to do take out or a restaurant...) and let the vacation begin. Lovingyou.com has come up with 3 romantic staycation ideas that sound pretty good to me! And where ever you go don't forget your Swipes Lovin Wipes!

Staycation #1: Garden of Eden

Plan a romantic dinner in your very own Garden of Eden (fig leaves optional): According to Julie, Mulligan, lifestyle expert for 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, if you’re planning to create this Garden of Eden in your home and you have kids, make sure you make arrangements for them to stay at Grandma’s house for the night.

Step 1. Gather all of your house plants into the area you have selected as your Garden of Eden. To give the best effect, use various size plants to form the perimeter of the space. If you don’t already have plants in your house this is the perfect excuse to buy a few. Growing and caring for indoor plants often times gives many a sense of pleasure, tranquility and peace. Not only do plants calm our souls, they also bring us good health by improving the quality of the air we breathe.

Step 2. Next, layer on the blankets and pillows where the wining, dining and games will take place! Use as many pillows as you can in varying sizes and pleasing fabrics. If you and your loved one enjoy games, consider adding some to the night’s activities. A little variation to standard games can give them a whole new life. Some examples are Strip Poker or Sexy Scrabble. Another fun activity for the evening: blindfold your loved one and feed them various foods and see if they can guess what they are!

Step 3. A picnic basket filled with delicious fingers foods that are perfect for feeding to each other comes next. Since you are setting this up in advance and don’t have to worry about carrying it to an outdoor venue, any kind of basket or decorative box will work fine. Remember to include a tray, plates, and any utensils you might need. Choose foods that turn them on. For example, you might not think that chicken wings are romantic, but if he loves them then they can be. Just make sure you have a container to stash the bones in!

Step 4. Set up your wine or champagne close to your food basket. Include the appropriate glasses, wine cooler, and ice bucket.

Step 5. Music will help set the mood. Making your own romantic play list ahead of time is ideal, so that once you hit play and you are set for the night.

Step 6. Lastly, make sure you add a few special décor elements. This should include as many candles as possible and of course, no romantic setting would be complete without flowers. Of course, setting up the Garden of Eden in front of the fireplace works nicely, but if you have space in your bedroom that works too. Remember, this is all about you and the person you love so personalize as you go.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

Peace, Lovin, Swipes!

Freaky Friday: Halloween Edition

It's Halloween Weekend! Yay!

This will be the freakiest of all weekends...and not necessarily in a good way!

But while you're hitting up all the costume parties or taking the kids trick or treating, don't neglect the freaky moments you can have on your own with your partner! Become a sexy super hero, a pirate or just be a nudist (but I encourage picking a costume for fun!)

Green_skin_suit

Even if you're not into Halloween, take the opportunity to do a little role playing or something out of the ordinary. I'm sure your partner will be pleasantly surprised. So while all the freaks sworm the streets you can avoid them and keep all your freakiness in between the sheets (it ryhmed I couldn't help myself)! But while on that note keep your swipes lovin wipes near by...you're going to need it!

But whatever you choose to do, stay safe and steer clear of the weirdoes.

Peace, Lovin, Swipes!

What do you know about the wet wipes you use?

Adult_wet_wipes

Did you know that most wet wipes are made out of plastic...hence why you can't flush them! And the "flushable" ones you buy in the super market may only be flushable because the size is right but not because they disperse like toliet paper!

Well Swipes is the FIRST natural, eco-friendly Wipe! We're biodegradable, compostable, dispersible thus TRULY FLUSHABLE! And we don't have all those harsh chemicals either!

We launched our first product,Swipes Lovin Wipes® a year ago and have had nothing but great reviews and testimonials since.

Look out for our national retail debut next year and I'm sure other products are sure to follow!

“Love is the answer, but while you are waiting for the answer sex raises some pretty good questions.” --Woody Allen

Friday, October 21, 2011

Oh Sex...why are you still a mystery?

It's another good ole Freaky Friday and the Sexy and Green blog is bringing you Sex Myths debunked!

Sex_myths

Sex is one of the most natural parts of life. Almost everyone will do it at some point in their life, so why is it still so mysterious? By the time you're in middle school you're already listening to the other kids spitting out all their "expert" sex advice, which is pretty unreliable. No need to admit it now but you carried some of that advice onto High school and even college!  And that's where it all began--the allegations and the misconstrued facts of sex. Who has it better, what feels good where...yata yata. But today I've put together a list, with the help of Women’s Health Mag, of some of the most talked about sexual myths and it's time for them to be debunked. Ready?

  1. Size Matters! We have been lead to believe that the size of a man’s penis is what matters most in sexual encounters but believe or not, this is not the case!  "It's a myth that using the penis is the main way to pleasure a woman," says Ian Kerner, PhD, a sex and relationships counselor in New York City whose book She Comes First offers a guide to "female orgasms and producing them through inspired oral techniques." In his book, Kerner cites a study that reports women reaching orgasm about 25% of the time with intercourse, compared with 81% of the time during oral sex. But still to this day, men are trying to figure out how to enlarge their "man piece!" Come on guys remember "It's not the size of the boat, it's the motion of the ocean."
  2. Men Reach Their Sexual Peak at 18, and Women Reach Theirs at 28: No, your sex lives aren't doomed to be perpetually out of sync. Men's testosterone levels peak around 18, but hormones are only one small factor in male sexual performance, says Marc Goldstein, M.D., a professor of reproductive medicine and urology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. And women have no set peak. If you and your partner need to sync up your libidos, agree to take turns initiating sex every few days. "Sex at least once a week is like vitamins for a relationship," says sex therapist Ian Kerner, Ph.D., founder of GoodInBed.com. And the more you do it, even if you're not in the mood at first, the more you'll want to.
  3. Men Can't Have Multiple Orgasms The idea that guys get only one shot (so to speak) at orgasm comes from mistaking ejaculation for climax, says Kerner. While your guy does have physical limitations on how quickly he can produce and release sperm, he can still experience repeated peaks of arousal while doing the deed. The trick is to bring him this close to climaxing and then ease off so that he feels the toe-curling contractions of orgasm without ejaculating. "Ask him to tell you when he's about to go over the edge, then gently squeeze the head of his penis to pull him back," says Kerner. "Focus on kissing or stroking another part of his body for 30 seconds—long enough for him to cool down a bit, but not long enough for him to lose his erection—then start up again." Repeat until he begs for mercy.
  4.  It's Impossible to Get Pregnant When You Have Your Period "You can get pregnant at any stage of your menstrual cycle—even on the day you expect your period to start," says Sherman Silber, M.D., director of the Infertility Center in St. Louis. Sperm can live inside the body for up to a week, so if you have sex during your period and then ovulate shortly after, his little swimmers could still be hanging around, ready to make sexy time with an egg when it arrives.

For all the other sex myths click here

That'll do it for this weeks Freaky Friday! Have a fabulous sexy weekend and make sure you have your Swipes Lovin Wipes handy!

Peace, Lovin, Swipes!

Green Tip Tuesday: Baking soda is good for the skin

Bakingsoda

Hey everyone it's Green Tip Tuesday and I have something for you that is cheap and you probably already own---baking Soda! Many people use baking soda to absorb smells in their fridge, clean clothes, and teeth. But did you know that baking soda is not only good for cleaning the house and clothes but also great for your body inside and out?

Baking soda cleans the skin quite well and some, who are sensitive to chemicals (often found in our shower gels and shampoos) have used baking soda to wash their bodies and their hair! And get this it'll clean your shower all at the same time! lol

The very powerful baking soda is also good for you. If you add a little to your water once a day it will give off more oxygen to the body, helping you fight off illness and disease. Believe it or not but diseases can't live in a oxygenated body. Some will argue baking soda can even help cure cancer! Do your own research. But if you choose to drink it, use Bob's Red Mill baking Soda...its aluminum free and you can find it at Whole Foods--that's what I use!

Have a great Tuesday!

Peace, Lovin, Swipes!

Sexual Fantasies are good for you

Fantasy
Dream on ladies and gentlemen, there’s nothing wrong with a little fantasizing…it’s a natural part of life. The sexiest part of the human body is in the brain and these fictional thoughts are the quickest and most assured routes to sexual arousal. Think about it, we use our imagination all the time. We envision all the possible futures that are daily life could result in. We change our thought pattern if negativity sets in to turn our days around or let it get the best of us by over analyzing all the negative possibilities. Yet when it comes to the mystery of sexual thoughts, some of us keep that door locked.

Allowing yourself to free your mind and explore your sexual fantasies by yourself or with your partner is one of the most common acts we share as human beings according to Care2.com. In fact, in recent studies on sex in American the majority of women and men have reported having fantasies while having sex. Most tie fantasy-having to a more male related activity, although recent studies have shown women partake heavily in the imagination at play. “The more sexual fantasies they have, the more sexual desire they experience.” However, some women tend to feel more guilt related to fantasies especially if they are in committed relationship.

Fantasies are exactly what they are…fantasies. Your sexual fantasies can help you and your partner keep things alive. Share your thoughts together and who knows maybe it can lead to a little role playing which is always fun! Just remember to communicate your comfort level and boundaries. And if not keep them to yourself, that’s ok too. Mounting research suggest that the allowing yourself to entertain those thoughts increases the health of sexual arousal and desire.

Green Tip Tuesday

Green tip Tuesday:

Hey everyone today’s Green Tip is to make everything old new again.  There are so many things you could do with products you don’t have “use” for anymore. For starters, you know the saying “one person’s junk is another’s treasure!” Always remember there’s probably someone out there that could use what you have and if you think it’s invaluable be innovative and think of creative ways to recycle it. Here are a few simple tips:

Jugs

  • Reuse and be creative: Take the picture above, old water containers can become garden pots for veggies and plants. It can be a great rainy day activity or a great way to get you out in teh garden.  You could completely reuse items and have them take on a new life! Think about it, be creative. Here’s an article to spark a few ideas!
  • Share appliances with your neighbors. You probably have a have appliances use every once in a blue moon. Why not initiate an appliance sharing program in your neighborhood…that way you’ll save money, have new storage space, and promote good will in the community!
  • Have a yard sell—make a little extra cash, do a little bartering, or even give the proceeds to a local charity!  Invite your neighbors to get involved and make one large yard sale.  Less signs and more involvement is a green way to go and builds a sense of community.
  • Donate to your local non-profit thrift store. There is always someone, somewhere that has a need for what you don’t. So team up with Good Will, the Salvation Army or your local thrift store and help them help someone in need!  The change of seasons is a great time to rotate your wardrobe for what you will eb wearing as it gets colder.  Look through your closet and see what you did not use in the past seasons, take it out and donate it.
  • Plan for the holidays, don't forget that with the holidays approaching charities will be looking for donations.  Remiond your freinds and neighbors to set aside non-perishable food donations for the food drives.  And toys in good condition that are no longer in use in your house can be a less fortunate child's favorite toy.

Peace, Lovin, Swipes!

Freaky Friday: Top 3 mistakes Women make when it comes to Sex

In this day and age women are the epitome of multitaskers---between work, appointments, taking care of the kids, nurturing relationships with their partner, family, and friends; we get a little lost in our ways.  And sometimes it affects our committed relationship and of course the sex that’s involved. As women we have a tendency to be emotionally in tuned, we’re sensitive; concerned about timing and our appearances! But today, I’m sharing with you a few tips I got from yourtango.com, these are the top 3 mistake women make when it comes to sex:

  1. You worry (too much) about what you look like:

Sometimes it’s hard, you can’t help but to want to look like all those airbrushed women on your man’s calendar or Maxim magazines…they look so…perfect. Reality check, they are not. They have the imperfections but the power of photo shop is amazing. Stop comparing, he’s with you for a reason—embrace that. You’re beautiful because you’re you. Stand in front of the mirror naked and remind yourself of your natural beauty. You’re more likely the one obsessing…he’s not. Focus in your connection in life and sex. Leave low self esteem out of the equation.

  1. You don’t initiate Sex:

Many women just don’t feel comfortable being the initiator. Society has convinced us it’s the male’s job. Well ladies times have changed! According to Askmen.com, 54% of men initiate sex and 76% of them revealed they initiate sex because they want to feel closer to their partner. So maybe it’s time we show them we want to be closer too and take action! But here’s a little side rule to consider: when you take initiation into consideration, do it subtly or go all out with heels and lingerie but the last thing a guy wants is nagging and desperation--even if sex is involved, it’s just not a sexy trait. So if you’ve never initiated here’s your chance GO FOR IT! In a recent Freaky Friday post we talked about “How to seduce a man” check that article out and get some tips (actions may vary depending on types of relationships).

  1. You don’t guide him:

Talking about sex can be awkward and uncomfortable…but it’s important to discuss your likes, dislikes, and physicals needs the same as you do for anything else in a relationship! Don’t be shy; chances are he’ll be turned on by your confidence and guidance. In the words of yourtango.com “Let’s be the G.P.S (Gathering Pleasure Sensor) for our partners.” Take him for a tour!

Freaky Friday: Top 3 mistake Women make when it comes to Sex

Cell phone or Sex...which would you chose?

I came across this article and found the results quite interesting..look for yourself:

Survey Finds One-Third of Americans More Willing to Give Up Sex Than Their Mobile Phones

TeleNav survey examines Americans' attachment to mobile phones; finds iPhone users are least willing to let go of their devices

Info-graphic: Phone Wars

Sunnyvale, California — August 3, 2011 — Results of a recent national survey* commissioned by TeleNav, Inc. (NASDAQ: TNAV) indicate that Americans are willing to give up some of life's greatest pleasures in order to hang on to their mobile phones. Not surprisingly, smartphone users were more attached to their devices than were feature phone users, with iPhone users leading the pack. In fact, iPhone users were more likely than their Android or BlackBerry counterparts to spend a week without their significant other, exercise or shoes—rather than go a week without their phone.

While 22 percent of all respondents said they would rather give up their toothbrush than their phone for a week, this number jumped to a whopping 40 percent among iPhone users. Halitosis and other priority quirks aside, 83 percent of iPhone users thought other iPhone users would make the best romantic partners.

Even among feature phone users, however, TeleNav's survey showed respondents' strong attachment to their mobile phones. Nearly half of all respondents said they sleep with their phone next to them, including 38 percent of feature phone users and 66 percent of smartphone users.

From differences between iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry users to the snap judgments people make based on the type of phone someone carries, TeleNav's latest survey sheds light on just how important mobile phones have become in Americans' lives.

Tip: Green Your workout

Hey everyone it's "Green Tip Tuesday" and we want you to know that earth friendly changes aren’t just in what you purchase or what you eat! Working out is another lifestyle area where you can make these changes. Here are a few easy tips that will help reserve our earth and save you a little green in your wallet!

Green_workouts

  • Go Outside! Use the natural landscape for your resistance and up hill climb! Bike, hike, and run all while saving energy used at gym. Plus you’re saving on your gym membership!
  • Walk, bike, or Carpool to your local gym. If you’re going to use the gym, then consciously think of a way to green-it up. If you live within a mile or so of the gym then walk, run, or bike it. You’re going to do it anyway when you get there! Think of it as a way to cut your warm-up or cardio time out and focus on weight-training. Or see if any of your friends or neighbors attend your gym and make a date out of it! Carpooling helps you save on CO2 emissions and gas!
  • Workout Attire: Choose organic cotton, bamboo, or hemp.
  • Say No to one-time use bottles. Plastic is a waste, period. So invest in a reusable bottle. $3 bucks and you’ll always have a bottle handy to fill up anywhere. It’s worth the investment—monetarily and environmentally.
  • Recycle your shoes. A trainer once told me, you should change your running/walking shoes every 3-6 months, with that being said that’s several shoes per year and you no longer have a use for them! Well Nike wants to create a new life for those shoes with their Nike Reuse-A-Shoe Program. Worn out shoes are used to build new tracks, basketball and tennis courts. Now that’s building sustainability! http://www.nikereuseashoe.com/

Stay Sexy and Green

Freaky Friday: How to seduce a man!

Women have you ever wondered of the ways to seducing a man? Is the man in your life taking to long and/or is just not seducing you lately? Sometimes the “I-need-it-right-now” hormones kick-in and it's time to take action! Here are a few tips on how to get the job done. It’s the weekend try it out.

Seduce_a_man

  1. Choose the place: Location! Location! Location! This is a very important step. Don’t start seducing in a crowded sports bar unless you’re looking for a quickie! (Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing!) But if you’re looking to set a more romantic vibe, eliminate distractions—you want his full attention. Start seducing over a private dinner or anywhere with a romantic ambiance. I know its cliché…but a little candlelight and soft music go a long way!
  2. The Importance of Scents: Eddie Corbano of loveagame.com says, “The scent is one of the most powerful subconscious influences that affect our judgments!” Ok but that that doesn’t mean over do it with the perfume ladies! Since we like to keep it natural here at the Sexy and Green blog…try using aromatherapy oils—rose, jasmine, ylang ylang, cinnamon, rosewood, etc. All these oils are also aphrodisiacs so it’s a win win.
  3. Show a little...but not too much! Leave a little to the imagination(if you're on the date portion) …slutty is out! Find a compromise between showing and hiding your womanly qualities. Enhance certain body parts without showing them off! (But once you’re in the bedroom…all bets are off and lingerie is highly favored!)
  4. Confidence is key: Know what you want and how to get it. Don’t be scared. Key thing is don’t over do-it…you don’t want to come off as arrogant. Just be confident in your skin and who you are…and that will shine.
  5. Flirt: Use some non-verbal ques—play with you hair, touch him ever so slightly, face him directly and lean over just a bit, or even wet and bite your lips from time to time. But once again…don’t over do it! Too much could come off a bit weird or even creepy.
  6. Play hard to get: This one will probably work better if you’re single and trying to seduce a stranger or someone you’re dating. Leave a feeling of anticipation, don’t look desperate. Word of caution: don’t be so stand-offish where you really seem not interested! Balance…always remember the balance!
  7. The looks: (this step is more if you’re out in public) the power of attraction is also in the eyes. Sidelong glances and quick turn aways show interest. If you find that you’re both doing it…then it’s anyone’s game.

All in all just go for it…flirt and initiate but don’t be too desperate and pushy. Men also like to think they actually seduced you…let them think it but we know the truth!  ;-)

Happy Friday!

Oh Burning Man...we appreciate you!

So Swipes got a lot of feedback from people that participated in Burning Man this year (a annual artsy-hippie celebration of sorts) and although we weren't able to physically be there, I think our Swipes Lovin Wipes helped a lot of people stay fresh and comfortable. Reid Mihalko, sex and relationship expert, gave a few appropriate recommendations for all of you who are thinking of participating in next years event! And of course your Swipes were included in the great recommendation! But after looking at a few photos...I can see why they came in handy!

Burning_man

Check out what Reid had to say:

With great power comes great responsibility… Radical responsibility!
The BurningManArtsFestival in Black Rock City, Nevada, is host to some of the most free-spirited, artsy, and sex-positive people on the planet, as well as extreme partying conditions!

Daytime temps on the Playa regularly exceed 100-degrees; 20-70 mph, white-out condition dust storms are common place (bring goggles!); and nights often dip near freezing… Such conditions can wreak havoc on the human body (stay hydrated!), not to mention your sex toys !

As a safer sex geek who’s played plenty at BM over my five-tours of dusty duty, and as one of the proud founders of Camp Beaverton for Wayward Girls (the playa’s largest, queer women’s camp and host of the infamous “Strap-On-A-Thon,” the largest, women-identified-only play party on the Playa), I’ve got lots to say when it comes to healthy, fulfilling, safe sex on the playa!

Freaky Friday: Use honey!

Honey

It's national honey month. Yes, there is such a thing. Honey is a wonder food, it has many great uses--from eating it (helps speeds the metabolism) to moisturizing your skin, honey is a natural healer! But today is Freaky Friday so you can only imagine what I would suggest you do with such an item!

It's a little sticky and very sweet (always a good combination) so use it on your partner and tell them it's in celebration of National Honey Month! It's a quick, easy, and cheap way to spice up your love life tonight :)

And of your course you're going to need your Swipes Lovin Wipes handy for this one!

Have fun!

Fashion's Night Out was fabulous!

We had a lot of fun at Fashion's Night Out at the Adventura Mall in Miami, FL!

We saw great fashion shows and even got to meet a few Real Housewives! Jill Zarin from the "The Real Housewives of NYC" hosted the Macy's fashion presentation!

And we ran into Adriana De Moura from "The Real Housewives of Miami"--she loved her Swipes Lovin Wipes!

Kiss Me---again?

So I thought national kiss day or International Kiss day was July 6th? I even wrote a post on it! But I guess today is another one!!! I'm not complaining..there is nothing wrong with kissing.

Enjoy today, kiss your partner passionately or whoever you want! But for strangers, just make sure your disclaimer is, "It's national kiss day for crying out loud!" I'm sure that will work ;-)

For fun...what's your favorite Hollywood Movie kiss? Tell us on our fan page! We'd love to know!

9 Tools For Dancing In The Desert At Burning Man

Burning Man was a little over a week ago and Brent Rose from Gizmodo created 9 tools you need for attending...and guess who made the list?(Hint # 5)

Ah, Burning Man. It’s art meets music meets dirt meets naked meets f**king amazing. As a two-time burner myself (who is sadly missing it this year) I can personally guarantee that this gear will maximise your awesome.

1.El Wire

Being bright and glowy at burning man isn’t just to make your dancing trippier, it’s absolutely mandatory at night time. People are tearing around on bikes and art cars and you absolutely need to be visible. No joke, people have died. You’ll see a lot of disposable glowstick-like jewellery, but that’s like making an ecological snuff film (MOOP!). El wire (electoluminescent wire) is awesome. It’s bright, reusable, and you can make amazing costumes out of it like the one you see above. It’s all over eBay and the internet, but this guy charges less than $US1.50/foot (depending on the gauge) and gives a burner discount.

N.B. Check out Scoochmaroo’s instructions for making the amazing above costume at Instructables.

2.A Real Shower

Yes, the desert is very hot during the day, but Black Rock City is pretty high up, and as soon as the sun goes down it gets cold in a hurry. You want to shower off from the day’s romping so you don’t smell like butt when you head out to find love on the dance floor, but when it’s cold out a cold shower sucks. Instead, hang up a solar shower like Sea to Summit’s Pocket Shower in the morning, and by the time the sun sets it will be piping hot. If you don’t have anything to hang it off of just get a friend to hold it for you while you shower. I know that sounds weird, but hey, it’s Burning Man. $US30 at REI.

3.Dust-Proof Camera

You want to capture some images from the burn? Well that alkaline dust is mighty fine; it will get all up in your camera and screw it up good an proper. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS3 is dust-proof, drop-proof (up to a 2m), and waterproof up to a whopping 12m! Not only that, it’s fairly compact and it takes really nice pictures. If you want a point-and-shoot camera for Burning Man and other rough and tumble activities, it doesn’t get any better than this one. $US300 at B&H.

4.Port-a-Penis

Here’s one for the ladies. Fact: You will have to pee at Burning Man. Fact: You may be far away from the nearest outhouse when you have to pee, and/or the outhouse may be nasty. Fact: You probablydon’t enjoy pissing on yourself or your clothes. While there is a camp that will give you a Dixie Cup with a small hose attached, I’d recommend the more ergonomic design of the Sani-Fem Freshette Feminine Urinary Director. It’ll give you a way to discreetly take a whiz without getting it all over yourself. Just remember not to take your leak in places where people are likely to walk (i.e. do it in a port-a-potty or in the middle of the playa). $US23 at REI.

5.Sex Wipes

Hoping to get laid at Burning Man? You’re not alone, my friend. Unfortunately, the hot, dry, and dusty environment isn’t particularly friendly to your nether bits and you’re going to want to give them a good once-over pre and post bonage. Swipes Lovin Wipes are designed specifically for such endeavours. Mild, yet thorough and refreshing, just like your privates want them to be. $US6 at Good Vibrations.
